For selected MacBook models, internal LCD replacement may be possible if the lid, hinges, camera, cables and frame are still in good condition. This can reduce cost compared with replacing the full display assembly because you are not paying for parts that still work — the aluminium lid, antenna, camera and hinges. A full display assembly is required when the lid is bent, the camera area is damaged, the hinges are damaged, the screen assembly is liquid damaged, or the display cable / frame condition makes internal LCD replacement unsuitable.
A black screen, no backlight or no image does not always mean the screen is faulty. The issue can also come from the display connector, backlight circuit, liquid damage, firmware or a logic board display-output fault.
